PLOOM RED
To accompany the launch of the new Ploom edition, designed by French designer Ora ïto, River Studio created and produced a global video campaign.
This edition highlights the Ploom Red, a device reimagined in a deep, striking red, a nod to the designer’s distinctive graphic language. While the product’s silhouette remains unchanged, its transformation lies in the power of its color and the depth of its finish.
The film portrays this metamorphosis through a pictorial metaphor: the device plunges into vats of paint, absorbing every shade of red before reemerging as a refined, vibrant, and poetic object. Through liquid movements, surface impressions, swirling motions, and moments of suspension, the visual narrative reflects both the precision of the design and the creative impulse behind this new model.
Beyond the main film, River adapted the visual universe for multiple events: from the Milan launch showroom, where our videos dressed the space, to a large-scale display campaign at Rome Airport. There, giant screens showcased our graphic animations, while a custom-built anamorphic installation offered an immersive, eye-catching experience. Inside a dedicated box, a virtual paint tank would fill up, the device would emerge in trompe-l’œil before plunging back, creating a continuous, hypnotic loop.
Combining aesthetic research, fluid simulations, and tailored technical solutions, the project brought to life a global experience where design, color, and movement intertwine to celebrate the unique identity of Ploom Red.
